Jujubinus exasperatus  (Pennant, 1777)

Worldwide distribution: Widely distributed along the Mediterranean and Atlantic coasts up to England.
Frequency in Malta: Common - Widely distributed along the Maltese coasts and especially common at Marsaxlokk and Pretty Bay.
Status: Native
Habitat: Marine - Widely distributed in shallow water among Posidonia.
Further Information:
The largest Jujubinus species reaching up to 13mm in size. Has a conical shape. Has very strong basal cords which are easily visible. Differs from Jujubinus striatus in having less spiral cords usually 4 as shown in one of the photographs.
